Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Excess Bowel Movement Be Side Effects Of Sandoz Cortimyxin?
i have been taking a medication called sandoz-cortimyxin. i am taking it because i was diagnosed with swimmers ear. the medication is a ear drop. i have realized that i am going to the washroom more (bowel movement) more often than usuall. is this a side effect or something different and should i be worried
Sandoz-cortimyxin is a great medication for swimmer's ear, and contains a combination of 3 anti-microbial agents. Unfortunately, none of these medications are absorbed systemically into the body, so I have to say that this med will not be causing you to have more bowel movements than normal. I have used this medication many times for patients and have never seen an increased number of bowel movements associated with it. I am not sure if that was helpful for you or not, but please you are welcome to reach back out to me to discuss further your symptoms and perhaps we can determine another potential cause.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. David Girardi, Internal Medicine Specialist
