Hi,

Diabetes is characterized by excess of hunger, excess of thirst & excessive urination. Raised blood sugar (fasting &two hours after food) confirms it. Excessive thirst followed by voracious intake of liquid without raised blood sugar does not fit in diabetics symptom. Excessive thirst can be due to excessive dehydration, exposure to heat or due to physical or psychological stress It can can be seen in few persons as an inborn habit. Please don't worry if blood sugar is fine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
