Can Excessive Masturbation Cause Anxiety?

Hi, I am 19 years old, and I am starting to realize that I have developed an unhealthy behavioral pattern. I used to masterbation daily while watching porn and it seems that that has caused me to become socially awkward. I would feel uncomfortable in front of others and would feel uneasy when I would talk to others. I have stopped masterbating daily and I feel more confident, motivated, and less tired. However, I relapse back to masterbating after a couple days, and I again feel unmotivated, tired, and become socially awkward. Is this behavior linked with masterbation or possibly something else?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Doing masturbation is not a problem. Need not worry. But you are having anxiety/depression. Better have a counseling with good Psychiatrist. Not to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr C.ELANCHEZHIAN, General & Family Physician
