Can Fibro Hazy Densities Or PTB Occur Even Without Any Related Symptoms?

Hi doc...is fibro hazy densities or ptb can occur if dont have some symptoms like I dont have phlegm nor fever...its just sad that i took cxray for my requirement applying job and sadly chop it for unfit to work and im so worried....thanks for the time to answer me

Hi,

This is quite possible to have TB related changes on X-ray. Which means that the TB bacteria may be present in the body without showing any symptoms. This is called latent TB.

In fact, when we get the TB germ, the immune system attacks the germ and restrict it (hence changes noted on X-ray) but the germ is restricted and hence most people don't produce symptoms.

However, such a patient can get reactivation of TB when your immune system is suppressed but most people don't get active disease lifelong.
