Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a pretty bad cold, could be the flu. I have been taking dayquill and nitequill to help me get by. I have been sick since Thursday and have only taken the amount of meds recommended on the box. However I feel much better today when it comes to the symptoms I have been having. My question is can dayquill/nitequill upset your stomach?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if flu medication lead to an upset stomach. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastritis , indigestion , IBS or food intolerance , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are probably due to side effects of flu medicine . I would suggest you to consult doctor who prescribe that medicine and discuss the condition . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe substitute . For now take probiotics food like yogurt and drink plenty of water . Avoid food like nuts and seafood and food that cause gas production like dairy product and broccoli . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for gastric problem .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
