Can Frequent Usage Of Canesten For Thrush Cause Any Side Effect?

Hello, I have had thrush for about 6 days. It s the worst iv ever had it. Did a soft gel canesten pessary Sunday but it has not got better and I cannot get to my doctor until Wednesday next week due to no appointments being available. Can I do another pessary today to try to get rid of it? I was worried about overdose. Thanks

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
You can safely repeat a pessary without an issue of overdose, but before that I will like you to have the vaginal swab checked for Gram stain and culture just to verify if it is really a thrush. There can be a host of problems that may look like thrush and get wrongly treated in it's guise.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.
