Can Fruit Juices Help A Overweight Person In Curing Psoriasis?

I have a male friend who is 100 pounds over weight and has psoriasis extremly bad... I have been juicing with kale green apples parsley lemon ginger cucumber .Can you tell me if he would benefit from the same juice..as far as clearing up his psoriasis? Thanks Bonnie

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM.

As far as psoriasis is concerned there are many well studied, clinically proven topical and oral therapies which are known to benefit.

Fruits, I really doubt are going to help at all.

I would advice that he should visit a dermatologist for a proper assessment and appropriate management of his psoriasis.

Various topical modalities useful in psoriasis are:

--Emollients
--Topical steroids
--Topical Vit D analogues
--Topical Coal tar ointment
--Topical PUVA etc

Oral therapies:

--Methotrexate
--Cyclosporin
--Oral PUVA
--Biologics etc

There are well controlled trials and approval for these medicines in treatment of psoriasis.
