Can Gallstones And Kidney Stones Be Removed Without Surgery?
Hi..... Can I treat gallstone and renal stones without of minor surgery??? The condition has few symptoms lik.RUQ abdominal pains ,...back pains, recurrent stomach pains ... No symptoms of clinical or obstructive jaundice.US report and image show evidence of multiple gallstones and renal stones.
Treatment options for gall stones or kidney stones depend on types of stones and size of stones. For multiple gall stones usually laparoscopic surgical removal is suggested and a post-surgical hospital stay of patients is hardly one day. You can talk to your surgeon regarding the treatment options as the best decision will be taken by your surgeon as he knows your history and current health condition.
When it comes to kidney stones, depending on the size and type of stones the nephrologist decides whether to go for surgery or manage it with medicines. As there are medicines which help in removal of the stones from body so surgery is not the only option. I would suggest you discuss this with your doctor and follow his advice on further management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
