Can Goiters Cause Neck And Ear Pain?

I have been told I have hashimoto's. I am not currently taking any medication for it since thyroid levels are normal. I also have 3 multinodular goiters. Could these goiters be causing neck and ear pain. I can usually feel my heart beat in my ear and also have pain shoot into my ears sometimes.

Brief answer: Yes
Detailed answer:
Hi,
Large goiters can cause pain in the neck and this pain can get radiated to the ears. If your thyroid functions are normal, you need not be on medications. I would suggest you to get and ultrasound neck done and see the size and structure of the nodules. Your physician may suggest a FNAC(needle test) from the nodule to see if it is benign(normal).

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help

With warm regards,
Dr Ajish TP (MD,DM)
