Can Having Pterygium Removed And Crying Severely Affect My Vision?
I have been crying severly (do to personal matters) beginning one week after having a pterygium removed and I feel it may have affected my vision. I have been told my eyes have not yet finished healing but I am still concerned that the excessive crying may have permanently harmed my eye or the ability for my eye to have a complete recovery. I have also previously had lasik surgery in both eyes and was told that the pterygium removal would in no way affect my vision. Would you be able to confirm that I have not harmed the eyesight in this eye and upon what time period it is expected that my vision would be as it was before the pterygium was removed approx. 12 days ago? Thank you.
Hello Pteryguum removal can cause corneal epithelial defect and can leave behind a corneal opacity. These can cause blurring of vision. Crying will not lead to any problem, hence no need to worry regarding crying causing damage to eyes. Since pterygium surgery was done almost two weeks ago the surgical wound should have healed by now hence consult your doctor if you have any visual symptoms.
Thank you
