Can Having Unprotected Sex Followed By Intake Of Pill While On Tri Sprintec Cause Pregnancy?
Hello, I m writing to ask you a question regarding a dilema I am currently going through. I have been on Sprintec since January; however, my doctor switched me to tri-sprintec and just started the new pack of tri sprintec at the end of my last sprintec pack. I finished the 6th pill and my boyfriend and I had sex. The condom broke before he had came. We freaked out and bought Plan B and I took it within 2 hrs of the condom breaking. Please help!
Your chances of getting pregnant is low. However, in case you develop early symptoms of pregnancy like nausea, loss of appetite, mood swings, abdominal discomfort, feeling of tiredness, etc. then you should get clinically examined by a gynecologist.
Get urine test for pregnancy done with the first morning midstream urine. Get USG (uterus and fallopian tube) done to detect ectopic pregnancy and gestational age of the fetus and its well being if pregnant. You will be accordingly managed and treated if pregnant or if not pregnant. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
