Can Heart Bypass Surgery Be Done While Having Extreme Acid Reflux?
My husband is scheduled for heart bypass surgery on Jan 5th. He is experiencing acid reflux symptoms although he has not been diagnosed with acid reflux. Everytime he eats, he experiences gas, indigestion, bowel issues, etc. He also has a sore throat and cough with no fever. I suggested that he call his doctor and report his symptoms. What is your opinion?
hello, Bypass can certainly be Done with reflux, but medicine should be taken for it prior to surgery. It will respond very well to medicine like Pan DSR etc. Also, surgeon should be told regarding this and his sore throat which can delay his surgery if worsen. So he should get betadine gargles, antibiotics and antacid for his problems, and get his resolved before surgery.
