Can Heartburn Cause Squeezing Pain In The Left Armpit?

I am a healthy 40 yr old female who doesn t smoke, exercises regularly and isn t overweight. I have been experiencing an intermittent squeezing pain in my left armpit. I took a tums and when it didn t go away I chewed 4 81 mg chewable aspirin with water which seemed to stop the squeezing pain within 5 minutes. The pain went away for an hour, but occasionally returns, but slightly more in the center of my chest. Can heartburn cause squeezing pain? I did eat spicy food around midnight along with wine. I plan on calling my doctor at 8am eastern time, but I m becoming increasingly concerned.

Squeezing pain in left armpit probably suggests towards reflux oesophagitis, referred cardiac pain or any other cardiac disorder. Investigation like ECG, barium swallow or meal would be required to rule out diagnosis. Till then an antacid probably pantoprazole40 will help if its due to excess acid secretion.
