Can Heavy Bleeding Happen During Pregnancy?

I had unprotected sex on 1st July and then took four emergency contraceptive pills on consecutive days. I got my period a week early and it wasn t light bleeding. It was the normal heavy bleeding for two days and then it became lighter on day 3. Is there any chance I could be pregnant? My partner did not ejaculate inside me and the sex only lasted a few mins. He pulled out before. Please let me know

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
Do not worry, pregnancy is impossible once you get your period.
Heavy bleeding and earlier period are side effects of the pill because of high progesterone in the contraceptive pill and you took four ECP pill.
Do not use ECP as a regular contraception as it cause hormonal imbalance that produce menstrual irregularity, fertility problem and ovarian dysfunction.

Use ECP in case of emergency only and use another regular contraception like condoms and OCP.
Take healthy diet with iron supplements and fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables.
Hope this may help you

Contact HCM for any other issue.
Best regards
