Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband had a knee replacement almost 3 months ago. His knee is doing fine, but he is plagued by an itchy rash for the past month or so. It appears to be getting worse. It looks almost like ringworm, but not such a defined circle shape. Could it be a reaction to the heavy load of painkillers he has taken? He is still taking Panadol 1 or 2times daily. What are your thoughts please?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
He has knee replacement and taking heavy pain killer. Itchy skin rashes are not common side effects of pain killers. His skin rashes may be due to some other cause like fungal infection or some skin disease.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
