I have high blood pressure and waiting for my health insurance what can I do to keep my pressure down? Yesterday I had to drink vinegar straight without anything to bring it down. My pressure was 215/117 and my leg and eye was hurting. I have a kidney problem because of my high pressure. My pressure damaged my kidney not to the point were I need dialysis just enough to know that it has been harmed.
High blood pressure is one of the commonest causes of kidney disease and this should be detected early and treated on time. Chronic hypertension leads to kidney damage known as hypertensive nephropathy or hypertensive nephrosclerosis. Presently, this is a condition which is commonly seen in patients of kidney disease and diagnosis should be made promptly to avoid delay in treatment. Initial kidney function tests like blood urea and serum creatinine must be evaluated. If tests results are abnormal then glomerular filtration rate must be done and if that also shows reduced function then a kidney biopsy might be required. Renal biopsy and pathological examination is the gold standard of diagnosis.
If your kidney functions are compromised then your doctor will suggest a biopsy to know the exact nature of kidney disease probably due to hypertension.
The best way to control kidney complications arising out of hypertension is to take regular treatment for high blood pressure and have a good diet and fitness plan.
