Can High Cholesterol Cause Irregular Periods?
i went to the doctor and after blood work they said i have off the charts high cholesterol. could be inherited. he prescribed me some cholesterol medicine and i've been on it for 2 days and my period came. mind you i haven't had a period for 4 years (pregnancy,2 years of breastfeeding and it's beena year since i've stopped bfing). I was wondering if high cholesterol plays a role in missed periods?

high cholesterol levels have no bearing to onset /resumption of menstrual cycle.
you are now rightly placed on cholesterol lowering drugs.the onset of peroids in your case is just a coincidence with treatment of your high lipid levels.this resumption of periods in your case is just a normal phenomemon post lactation cessation.consult your gynecologist for further queries.
