Can Hiv Test Turn Positive After 3 Months With Previous Negative Results?
Hey Doc I have been in fear of hiv for the last two months my exposure was oral on a CSW and I got fever the next day and some rashes after two weeks this could have been because of anxiety then when I got tested on 55 days after expoure the test came back negative it was an hiv 1 an 2 an p24 HDUO test 4th generation. 1. After this test am I in the clear or do in need to retest at 3 months? 2. Have you ever seen a negative duo result at 55 days turn postive 3 months? 3. Is the DUO good after 3 months because I have had few exposures before which were low risk like protective sex? 4. Some people say that the p24 antigens disappear within 8 to 10 weeks? 5. If the DUO test is conducted and if there is no p24 but if the antibodies is present then can the DUO test pick up the antibodies?
Hey , here are your answers. 1. Oral sex is a low risk activity. HIV tests pick infections 95% at 28 days and 99.97% at 90 days , but as a protocol you have to go for a retest at 90 days. 2. The answer is 'no' 3. Question not clear , if you imply its accuracy , then as stated at 90 days , almost 100% accurate. 4.Yes 5. Yes
I hope it helps.
