Can Hormonal Imbalance Affect Regular Menstruation?
I had depo vera last december, in february i had menstruation which lasted for 3 weeks, i was given oralcon pill and the period stopped, in march i had a heavy period with clots for 7 days as i continued with the pill the period stopped, does this mean my hormones are disturbed
Apparently your endogenous hormonal and menstrual cycle seems to be disturbed by the exogenous hormonal depot. OCPs like oralcon pill can help to regularize your cycles, if taken in a cyclical way. If your cycles were regular before taking these shots and pills, probably it is just an effect of these medications.
But to exactly pin-point the cause of menstrual problems, you need to be properly evaluated with clinical history, physical exam and relevant investigations.
Hope it helps.......
