Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a dog that was prescribed carprofen for arthritis, and has worked wonderfully on him. my question is that I am a private caregiver who has a 97 year old client, and she has severe arthritis and is in pain constantly. she takes advil or aleve for her pain but they really don t help with the pain. the doctor her the only thing left for her to take is morphine, but she doesn t want to do that. she asked me to find out if humans were able to take carprofen
Carprofen is an non steroidal anti inflammatory drug much lower in pain control than morphene, so if your client is already on morphene only hope left is a replacement surgery. in some cases intraarticular steroid can also help control pain
