Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 89 year old previously alert, very active mother was hospitalized for severe hyponatremia, following a bout of diverticulitis. She was discharged over the weekend. She called me to tell me she feels wonderful and is at peace and has written loving letters to everyone....and she just wanted to tell me she loves me because God is going to be taking her before my visit in 6 weeks. This is NOT my normally happy active mom. Could the hyponatremia which dropped at one point to 108 have caused some permanent to transient post recovery mental defects?
