Hello,

Abnormalities of the thyroid may cause dizziness or giddiness as a symptom.
Hyperthyroidism (too much thyroid hormone) may cause palpitations, shortness of breath, and lightheadedness.
-At the other side, Hypothyroidism, may also induce giddiness.

But, in your specific case, considering that your thyroid tests are normal, I can underline that the thyroid gland is excluded as a potential cause for you giddiness.

You mention that with the antipsychotic medications, your symptom has improved.
In these circumstances, my advice for you is to have a regular follow up with your treating psychiatrist for necessary doses or medication modification, accordingly to your actual symptom/s.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Elona Xhardo, Endocrinologist
