Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
As cow's milk is a strict no in a baby's diet for a year, can I add lactogen powder to the ragi and wheat mix that I make for my baby? If yes, how? If no, then what else can I use? I had exclusively breast fed the baby for 6 months.. And I still am. My baby is now running 7 months.
Hello thanx for using hcm,
your baby has completed six months now you can start feeding home based foods and you can start giving lactogen or other infant formula designed for that age.
To start with rice is easy to digest you can give rice gruel , dal gruel , fruit juice, vegetable soup , cerelac .you can make ragi wth boiled water no need to add lactogen.
Start with small quantities, dont force the child to feed.Take proper care of hygiene ,use only boiled water for making feeds.
You can breast feed the child upto 1 year.
