Can I Get Syphilis From My Wife If She Is TPHA Postive?
Dear sir,
Please find the attached file in my wife medical report.
My wife last 09/06/12 is visa medical done but she have TPHA positive .
Now I am getting visit visa oman she conduct many more doctors advise
and letters is given reference attached.
My wife is consulted your clinic he taken DOXRID TABLETS&MULTIVITAMIN
TABLEETS are taken one month.
I am also many more times medical checkup VDRL-Non reactive.
TPHA -NEGATIVE,
HIV-Negative
I am with family now in oman daily sexual in my wife but I am more fear
for may affect I am also infected fear only every 4 month checked I am
did not have any syphilis.
Kindly give the corrective answers.

TPHA is a specific test for Syphilis and not a very sensitive test. It has no prognostic value.
If it is once positive means, it remains positive for ever even after a total cure from Syphilis. It is compared to a serological scar persisting for ever.Cap Doxy cyclin for a month is a complete dose for her.
Your wife's TPHA positive may be even detected after a complete cure. so you might not get infected at all. You can have sex with her without any restriction and both of you would be safe. No more Syphilis for you.
