Can I Go Back For STD Test After A UTI Test With The Same Ciprofloaacin?

I recently went to a urgent care center because I thought I had a UTI. They took a urine sample and gave me ciprofloxacin 500mg twice a day for 7 days. My labs came back with nothing for UTI. I am feel fine, but could it have been a STD and if so should I go back or would the ciprofloxacin take care of it?

Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
Ciprofloxacin helps to treat the urinary tract infection, the full course of antibiotics will cure the UTI. There are many sexually transmitted diseases some of them are
1.Gonorrhoea
2.Chlamydia infection
3.Trchomonas Vaginalis
4.Herpes genitalis.
These are most common causes of sexually transmitted disease, these infections should be treated by different antibiotics other than ciprofloxacin.
Thank you.
