Can I Rub Vicks Vapor On Chest For Cough And Chest Pain?

I have a 79 yr old mother and she has very bad cough and chest pain from coughing so much ishe was given zythromax which she finished now she has cough syrup to help her sleep with codeine now she has 102 fever and I gave her Tylenol but I was wondering where she has heart disease can I rub vicks vapor on her chest and back

I can understand your situation and problem.
I advice you to take her to the hospital and get done chest x ray and ECG.
In old age, lung infections are very common . And high grade fever (102) with vigorous coughing with chest pain can be due to pneumonia.
So chest x ray is needed to rule out pneumonia.
ECG is needed to rule out cardiac cause.
So consult doctor and discuss all these.
Rubbing Vicks will not help her. It is just superficial cream.
