hi my wife 45, is diagnosed with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. with lef 25%. It was 20% when dignosed 3 months back. There is no symptoms now like breathlessness or heavyness in chest. All tests are normal except thyrod 8 now from 18 3 months back. taking thyroxin 25 and other medicines prescribed. No blockage at all. Question is - 1. can it be treated fully ? If yes how much time it will take.... 2. Any proven alternate medicine available. 3. precaution to avert any sudden mishappening. 4. Any changes in daily routine required
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, as long as the idiopathic cardiac myopathy is concern this can not be cured but with the medical treatment complications can be well avoided and patient can survive up to normal life span, regular follow up is necessary, there is no way in alternative medicines, bed rest is important, no stress either physically or mentally, periodic cardiac tests are very important, hope this information helps, take care.
