I have my Implanon inserted in my arm since Feb 2010 and while i understand that having this in causes irregular bleeding, any night i go out drinking i always wake up the next morning and am bleeding, not heavy but very noticably, what could be causing this? I am starting to worry about it!
Implanon contains hormones and this can cause hormone fluctuation. This can cause some spotting, uterine contractions which can cause some bleeding or spotting.
Along with this, alcohol may also contribute to some spotting as there may be increased uterine contractions in some people.
In case the bleeding persists, please see a doctor who can help you with the best medication or change the contraception to help you reduce the spotting.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
