Can Increasing The Dosage Of Zoloft Cause Nausea, Tightness In The Chest And Diarrhea?

Hello, Only 6 days ago I met with my GP who increased my dosage of Zoloft from 50 mg 1X daily to 75 mg 1X daily. I ve been experiencing headaches (bordering migraines) for the last 3 days, and this morning (for @ 2.5 hours) I also experienced nausea, tightness in chest and diarrhea. Are these symptoms typical / normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Nausea, diarrhoea, dry mouth, upset stomach are few of side effects of Zoloft. Whenever the dose will be increased, the intensity of side effects will increase. Tightness in the chest may be due to an upset stomach.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
