Can Infective Sores In Head Cause Thyroid Problem?

i wasinvolved in acar accident in 6-13-2011 and hit my head on back glass of pick-up truck. NowI have several sores on my head that will not heal. Question-- could infection in these sores be causing my thyroid problems? Blood tests show my thyroid to be abnormal.

Hi welcome to HCM....

As such injury can't lead primary thyroid problem that is thyroid gland disorder....

But if hypothalamus or pituatory gland affected than it can lead secondary thyroid issue...

If needed investigation with CT scan like higher investigation needs to be done. ..

You have not mentioned your report ...

For reaching correct diagnosis to rule out thyroid problem investigate with. ....
1.Serum TSH
2.Serum t4 (free)
3.Serum t3 (free)
