Can Inflamed Sternum Cause High Fever, Dizziness And Chest Pain In Child?

Just bringing my son from the ER, he has had a high fever (103.7), dizziness, and chest pain (hurts to the touch and when he breathes). X-ray was fine, and EKG also fine. Dr says he has an inflamed sternum and to just take ibuprofen. Would that cause his fever and dizziness also? Should I get a second opinion?
