Can Intake Of Duphston In The 4th Week Of Pregnancy Avoid Miscarriage?

Hi,i was pregnent on dec 15 had a misscarriage on jan 3 before misscarriage i saw some spotting 31 dec she done ultra sound and hcg test and said values are low she hasn't precribe me any medicine to safe my pregnency?tht end with misscarriage my question is 4 weeks of pregnncy can it helpfull take duphston to save my pregnncy tht tym

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Duphaston has hormone progesteron which is essential for maintenance of pregnancy which is growing normally. It does not have any role in weak pregnancy with low HCG( suggesting hampered growth of fetus/ missed abortion/blighted ovum.
Your doctor must of observed/ concluded non survivable/ poor fetal condition in USG/ HCG readings- that's why she did not advise duphaston .
But yes, in cases of repeated abortions- we try to support fetus with duphaston from diagnosing pregnancy itself/ or some times following ovulation in case of planned pregnancy.
