Can Intake Of Norethisterone Post Onset Of Periods Stop The Bleeding?
Hi, I will be getting married on Sunday 2nd August 2015 and will be flying out on Honeymoon the night after the wedding. I was planning on taking norethisterone a few days before my wedding to delay my period as it would be due on my wedding day, but my pre-menstrual blood seems to have come early (like a brownish watery discharge), i m getting pain in my tummy like I was on my period. Can I still take the norethisterone to stop bleeding or will it continue the bleeding. With my last period, I was 5 days late and bled for 2 weeks straight. Now this one is early. So annoying. A quick vague answer as possible would be lovely. Thank you.

As per my clinical experience, the intake of norethisterone is for actual suppression of hyper bleeding on acute basis. Once the last dose of norethisterone is consumed, you get withdrawal bleed within period of 3-4 days; which would be quite cumbersome during your golden period of life in terms of honeymoon.
The best choice for you is to start straightway a combined contraceptive pill from this day only on continuous basis, which will take care of pregnancy prevention as well as there will be no bleeding till next 28 days.
