Can Intake Of Alcohol Consumption Be Safe While On Cleocin For Tooth Infection?
HELLO, IHAS BEEN PRESCRIBED " CLEOCIN" FOR A SICK TOOTH THTA HAS CAUSED ME AN INFECTION IN THE UPPER GUMS (RIGHT SIDE) AND I HAD A GATHERING AND I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN DRINK 2 GLASSES OF CHAMPAIGNE AFTER 2 HOURS OF TAKING THIS MEDICINE FOR THE FIRST TIME.THANKS
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain Cleocin (Clindamycin) is an antibiotic and Alcohol is not advices with almost all medicines although alcohol generally do not cause any adverse reaction with Clindamycin but in case if there are any mild side effects alcohol can cause exaggeration of side effects.. Alcohol can also reduce the effectiveness or efficacy of the medicines..
So I would suggest you not to take any form of alcohol till you are on antibiotics..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
