Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Intake Of Antibiotics For Staph Infection Cause Extreme Pain In Joints?
If a staph infection does not react to antibiotics, is it possible to have excessive pain in my joints? I have multiple staphs in each big toe after my ingrown toenails were removed. 10 days on keflex and no improvement. I am now starting day 5 of levaquin and my toes still hurt and I have joint pain. Hoping there is no correlation.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, such condition may not be due to infection but this could be collagen disease and this need to be ruled out till then pain can be managed with NSAID (Non steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) and best would be Tab Diclofenac 50 mg once in day, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day
