Can Intake Of Azithromycin Cause Vaginal Bleeding?

I was given Azithromycin last Friday 500mg for 6days, I was on my 3 day of taking the meds and I started bleeding vaginal like a light period and it is not time for my period. I was given this medicine for a severe case of bronchitis. Is this normal?

Dear friend,it's hardly a possibility. Azithromycin is a very safe drug and it rarely causes any such side effect.Using it to cure bronchitis is a very common and rational practice, although in most of the cases 3 days' course is adequate. Probably your spotting (minor bleed) is not related to your drug.I think it'll stop soon, may be related to your current ill health.Get well soon and feel free to give me feedback about your problem.
