Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am concerned about my five year old who is almost 50 pounds and he's almost 4 feet tall. We found out that my son's nails have become brittle and have been peeling off. We looked at his vitamin ingredients and I am stunned to find that his vitamin has NO iron in it at all. Would this be a cause of his brittle, peeling nails? He did have iron deficiency when he was younger as well.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern better to get done the Hb test with indices instead getting idea with the texture of nail, in my opinion let the child grow little old, right now the texture of nail may not be the indication of any disease in obvious, at the most fungal infection would be the cause even chances of this is very less, hope this information helps.
