Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Kyphoplasty Surgery Be Administered While Having Low BP Levels?
I am 3 weeks away from undergoing kyphoplasty on T12 vertebrae, still have discomfort. Dr put me on meloxicam. I suspect my blood pressure is low as I just don t feel right. I am 88 years old and before my fall I was in good health. I am concerned how can I get it down? I weigh about 120.
Low blood pressure can cause dizziness and weakness in some persons. To raise the blood pressure would require the use of fluids and a slight increase in salt but you should consider having your blood pressure check to see the exact value before starting any changes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
