Can Lactation Be Induced When Never Been Pregnant?
Can I induce lactation? I am 67 and have never been pregnant. I did attempt to induce when we adopted but did not really have a good support system. My husband has ED and I introduced ANR as a way to still experience intimacy. We enjoy the intimacy but neither of us have had a good climax.
It is difficult to induce lactation especially if you never had it fully happening before. But with the right technique and persistence you can have some milk production but not enough to fully feed a baby. If you want it only to have intimacy with each other then you can try- use a breast pump every 2 hours for 15 minutes.
The milk should start getting produced after one week of doing this continuously. You have to do that every 2 hours also during the night. If there is no milk after 2 weeks of doing that, then it is not going to happen. Take care of your breast nipples meanwhile. Use a good nipple cream before and after using the breast pump.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Klarida Papaqako, General & Family Physician
