Can Leukemia Or Its Treatment Cause Blindness In Eyes?
My nephew who has acute lukemia woke up today blind in his left eye. He is finishing up chemo and his last test (2 wks ago) at Stanford found his bone marrow had no signs left of the lukemia. Can lukemia or the treatment of it cause blindness? Is it permanent and can it effect the other eye as well? He is going in for more testing tomorrow.
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your nephew is having leukemia with blindness in one eye. Leukemia can undergo metastasis to optic nerve and orbit. This can cause blindness. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
