Can Light Bleeding And Cramping In Early Pregnancy Indicate Miscarriage?

Hi there I am 9 weeks pregnant and was to the ER last night I've had very light spotting when I wipe after peeing and have had some cramping . They told me my hcg level is a bit low and they tried a portable ultrasound but it was hard to see if the baby was inside the womb . Just really scared and I don't have my ultrasound until tomorrow and I don't have any severe bleeding just looking for some peace of mind or if my baby is gone :(

Hi,

Your symptoms could be due to Hormonal imbalance, infections, exertion, Subchorionic hemorrhage, miscarriage. I would suggest to consult gynecologist as early as possible and undergo examination, USG scan to confirm cause. Progesterone pill and HCG injection will help you to reduce bleeding. Take complete bed rest till bleeding will disappear. Maintain proper pelvic hygiene, take healthy diet. Other specific treatment depend on cause and USG report.

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar

HI,

Your symptoms could be due to Miscarriage (either threatened or imminent) as it is accompanied with symptoms, such as cramping or abdominal pain. Hormonal changes, vaginal infections, subchorionic hemorrhage. I would suggest to consult gynecologist as early as possible to rule out cause.

Avoid stress, take complete bed rest, Progesterone pill and HCG injection will help you. So it could be miscarriage but other cause should be possible. Exact scenario will be decide by USG scan.

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
