Can Listeriosis Cause Runny Nose And Sneezing Problem?
Is a runny nose and sneezing possible with listeriosis? I am 17 weeks pregnant, it is summer and I have not been near many other people lately, have been careful with food but not crazily so - just avoiding the obvious. I have fever, body aches, bad headache, runny nose, sneezing. Symptoms usually associated with cold/flu but I am paranoid. No obvious gastrointestinal upsets but my stomach is a bit all over the place lately. No nausea but have been taking polaramine twice daily for hayfever and morning sickness.
The Listeriosis is a bacterial infection caused by Listeria monocytogens and there is usual history of ingestion of contaminated food within a period of 30 days. There are strong symptoms of muscle ache, high fever, body ache and abdomen cramps with loose motions are needed symptoms for the diagnostic work up. However, a study of lab data for the presence of antibodies in the blood are mandatory to stamp it as Listeriosis and mere runny nose with sneezing problem are not enough to diagnose the same. Kindly continue your current medications and do follow up regularly with your doc.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
