Can Liver Transplant Be Done Without Meeting Milan Criteria?
is there any hospital that will perform a liver transplant if the patinet does not meet the Milan Criteria? Hep c and HCC..resection of 3 cm tumor on Aug. 2, 2010. Cancer returned as 7 lesions..I round od chemoembolization. Scheduled for 2nd treatment Jan. 20 & Oral Nexavar.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Generally yes. There are some other criterias such as San francisco which is exntended and involves more patients then milans crietris since even patients with 8cm large tumors may be capable for transplantations. However, if there are 7 lesions then the benefit of transplantations is questioable and i would say this would be useless unfortunately. Wish you good health. Kindly regards
