Can Lower Back Injury Lead To Sciatica?

I injured my lower back in September of 2013. It took me almost 4 hours before I could actually stand to my feet. I did go to the ER and told them what happened, which they did not do anything except prescribe me some medication and diagnosed me with Sciatica. I continued to have pain in that are and finally received an MRI months later. Findings were L3-L4, desiccation of the intervertebral disk with mild disk space narrowing and endplate irregularity. Mild annular bulge; L4-L5, desiccation of the intervertebral disk with mild disk space narrowing. High intensity fissure peripheral fibers of the annulus. Small right paracentral disk protrusion with mild effacement of the ventral thecal sac, axial image 13, sagittal image 6; L5-S1, desiccation of the intervertebral disk with mild disk space narrowing. Mild bulge. The visualized distal spinal cord was normal, Conus ends normally at L1, Nerve roots of the cauda equina normal. I did receive an ESI, which did not relieve any pain except for only for two to three days. I have reached my MMI and was recommended to obtaining jobs that do not require lifting over 50lbs and that I do not need any pain management, but may take over the counter medications. Still, I have fatigue or weakness in my legs (there are times when I get out of bed or out of a vehicle I will stumble some, but not all of the time. I do get pain (cramping or aching) that runs down my leg or is usually localized behind my knees. My hamstrings remain tight even after I have stretched them. I was prescribed Meloxicam, Skelaxin, Hydrocodone 7.5, and Neurotin Physical Therapy did not help that much.
