Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been hearing the ingredient Lysophosphatidic Acid is bad and could cause cancer. Tarte makeup has it in there and I can not get any information if it is bad enough to stop using any products with this ingredient in it. Can you help me understand the scare with this acid. Thank you
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The bioactive phospholipid lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) stimulates cell proliferation, migration and survival. Aberrant LPA production and consumption may contribute to cancer initiation, progression and metastasis. It is better to avoid products containing Lysophosphatidic Acid as ingredients. I hope my answer will help you, take care.
