Can Mag.aspartate Cause Elevated Weakness And Disorientation At Times?
my husband is on many medictions ----- but recently I put him om mag. aspartate - which was recommended by our chemist. He has become very weak and disoriented at times ( although he was this way before taking magn. but in a lesser degree ) it seems obvious to me to give him another type of mag.
Hi Magnesium aspartate is a mineral aminoacid chelate and aspartate is an excitatory neurotransmitter. But high doses of aspartate are toxic and may cause neuronal damage ( excitotoxicity). So if a person is taking high doses of Mg aspartate ,then it may aggravate symptoms of depression, fatigue etc Then it is better to shift to another salt of magnesium and observe . Hope I have answered your query
