Can Meditation Cause Mental Illness?
Hi dear. I understand your concern. Meditations directly do not cause illness but execessive involvement in spirtual program or fixed belief toward anything might be precipitate illness. Or it may be just co incidence. But proer evaluation and treatment is must. Psychological evaluation and diagnosis about his thoughts processes will give more brief idea. Symptoms that have you ddescribed broadly indicate psychosis or psychotic illness like schizophrenia. Anti psychotic medicines like olanzapine/risperidone etc will help but take opinion of his treating psychiatrist. Consult same psychiatrist that he took treatment earlier. Still if you have a query then feel free to ask. Happy to help you further. Thank you.
