Does it gonna have any adverse effect on my baby. 2) I can say that I have 10% of my face affected by vitiligo is there any chance that my baby will have vilitigo neither my husband, parents, brother and his parents have vitiligo. Kindly answer these two question. Thanks in advance
Hi, Thanks for the query. 1.Megalin lotion belongs to category C drugs in pregnancy according to FDA. Means animal studies have demonstrated some possible risk to the fetus but sufficient human studies are lacking. So it should be used only when the benefits overweight the risks. Discuss this with your doctor and follow her advice. 2. Vitiligo is an acquired disorder. It is very rare to have congenital vitiligo. So, possibly your baby may not get affected with this. You can continue your regular medications. Regular antenatal checkups and ultrasound examinations are needed. Take care.
