Can Mild Epilepsy Cause Memory Loss And A Dull Feeling?
Hello doctor, I have mild epilepsy.. I just faint when I have epilepsy. I was first diagonised having this when I was 10 years old. Now I am 23. I have been having valparin chrono 500 for past 5-6 years before that I was on same medication but different dosage. The last time I had a seizure was 5 years back. Now I feel that I have memory loss and feel dull, and sometimes it takes time for me to understand simple things . I am worried about my health cause I am studying my Masters.

No this is not always true that because of epilepsy memory affects but this can not be ruled out, it all depends the severity of disease if this is mild one as you have stated here then chances of this would be very less, hope this information helps, take care.

Sorry to hear about your symptoms. These problems with your memory may be symptoms of the medications that you are on. They generally work by lowering the activity of neurons which can alter the normal activity too. However if it's getting worse, I suggest you discuss it with your neurologist and get a MRI of your brain done. It can also help to identify the cause of seizures in certain conditions like mesial temporal sclerosis etc.
