Can Mirena S Hormones Cause Hymen Loose Its Elasticity?
I have had the Mirena for almost 4 years now, and I have had trouble with my hymen losing it s elasticity over the last year or so causing me to abstain from sex with my husband because it is so painful. My Dr. has prescribed a hormone cream to use vaginally. I want to know if the Mirena s hormones could be causing this problem... I am going to have a hymenotomy next month to help my condition, but I wonder if I should have the Mirena removed as well.
Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum. You had marina fixed since 4 years. You are having pain during sex. It is most probably due to the infection of the vagina. Hymen is not at all there with you. If it lost elasticity, you should not have any pain if at all it is there. Vagina is so flexible, that it allows the baby to come out during delevary. I advise you to consult a gynecologist for diagnosis and treatment. you may need to be treated for the infection. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms fluconazole, cifixime, ornidazole, and diclofenac sodium. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.Thank you.
